The Operations Director of Health Equity is a pivotal leadership role at Boston Medical Center Health System (BMCHS), which is a comprehensive healthcare system with a mission to provide Exceptional Care without Exception. This position is integral to the Health Equity Accelerator, a program launched in 2021 aimed at transforming healthcare to deliver health justice and well-being. The Accelerator employs a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates clinical operations, community engagement, health-related social needs programs, and research to tackle racial health inequities. In this role, the Operations Director will oversee the MassHealth Health Equity Incentive Program, which includes managing initiatives aimed at reducing disparities in healthcare, such as diabetes and pregnancy care. The director will also be responsible for the operations of BMC's THRIVE tool, which is designed for social needs screenings and referrals. This position will require collaboration with various departments and business leaders across the hospital to implement relevant initiatives, monitor performance, and introduce remediation plans as necessary. The director will also liaise with MassHealth and coordinate with other hospital projects to ensure the successful execution of health equity initiatives. The Operations Director will engage with senior leadership to align on goals, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure timely decision-making. They will translate requirements into high-level priorities, monitor performance on health equity-related metrics, and take action to improve outcomes. This role demands strong stakeholder management skills, as the director will need to build relationships with clinical and operational leaders, engage with external vendors, and facilitate the sharing of best practices across hospitals in Massachusetts. Additionally, the director will be responsible for writing and managing disparity reduction performance plans and interpreting healthcare quality disparity data for various audiences.
