About the position

The Operation Director is responsible for maintaining the MRI facility and running the day-to-day operation of the facility under the supervision of the MRRC Director. This role includes supervising and training MRI technologists and research staff, maintaining and upgrading the facility and peripheral equipment to the 3T human MRI scanner (Philips), as well as peripheral lab equipment, computers, and software. The Operation Director will actively seek opportunities for scientific advancement of the core and maintain awareness of new technologies. Responsibilities also include monthly billing for services via iLab core facility management software, ensuring that all expenses and revenues are reviewed and deemed appropriate, and working with Einstein IT to manage user data pipelines and access to data storage and computational resources. The role requires maintaining an MRI safe environment for co-workers, research subjects, and personnel, administering various aspects of research programs including submission reviews, compliance education, and project protocols, and ensuring investigators and key personnel complete required training. The Operation Director will serve as the primary contact with users, other College departments, units, and external organizations to understand research requirements and provide estimates and timelines for completion of projects. Additional related duties may be assigned.

  • Performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • PhD in MR physics or engineering.
  • Expertise in MR system hardware and software usage, application, and development, preferably on Philips and/or Bruker scanners.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in supporting MRI systems for research.
