About the position

The Operations Director at the Homeless Action Center (HAC) is a key leadership role responsible for managing the internal systems of the organization. This position aims to enhance the operational efficiency of HAC, which provides legal services to homeless individuals in Alameda County. The Operations Director will oversee various departments including Administration, Human Resources, Data Management, Information Technology, and Facilities, while ensuring alignment with HAC's strategic objectives and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership to enhance operational efficiency by designing, implementing, and evaluating internal processes and systems.
• Manage and lead the Operations Team, ensuring alignment with HAC's annual objectives and overall strategy.
• Develop and implement organizational policies and HR procedures that ensure compliance with regulations and foster a healthy culture.
• Center equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all operations team activities.
• Lead initiatives on best practices in organizational management and professional development.
• Participate in executive team decisions impacting strategy, resources, and organizational risk.
• Regularly assess and update organizational policies related to operations, HR, Data Management, and IT.
• Administer the budget and financial decisions related to the Operations Team in coordination with the Executive Team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in operations, financial management, IT, and HR, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience, including leading a team.
• Experience in problem identification and resolution.
• Familiarity with labor and payroll laws.
• Proficiency in technology platforms including Microsoft and Google Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
