The Operations Engineering Electrical Engineer at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) plays a crucial role in ensuring that the government makes informed investments that maximize life-cycle value while minimizing overall costs. This position is integral to the maintenance and operational efficiency of facilities, focusing on the integration of engineering principles with practical applications in facility maintenance and construction. The engineer will work onsite, collaborating with various teams to analyze maintenance responses and inform future sustainment and repair actions. This role requires a proactive approach to engineering opportunities, balancing on-site work with programmed engineering tasks to enhance operational effectiveness. In this position, the engineer will manage the capture of data, ensuring its quality and currency, which is vital for making informed decisions. They will analyze maintenance responses, considering factors such as mission risk, maintenance risk, sustainability, and system performance. The engineer will also be responsible for developing an integrated approach to preventive maintenance resource investments, contributing to life cycle return on investment and risk evaluations. Additionally, the role includes managing the Utilities Asset Management Plan (AMP) and Electrical Sub-AMP, documenting optimization strategies, and providing measurable goals and trend improvements. Responsibilities

  • Manages the capture of data and ensures data quality and currency.
  • Analyzes all maintenance responses to inform future sustainment and repair actions based on factors such as mission risk, maintenance risk, sustainability, and system performance.
  • Integrates preventive maintenance resource investments into the life cycle return on investment and risk evaluations.
  • Develops an integrated and balanced approach on the use of on-site versus programmed engineering opportunities to accomplish proactive work recommended by SMS.
  • Responsible for Utilities AMP and Electrical Sub-AMP.
  • Documents and reports the optimization strategy and provides for measurability of overall goals and trend improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
  • At least five years' experience in construction or facility maintenance field.
  • Completion of WENG 200, 400; WMGT 231 and 417 within 12 months of hiring.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
