About the position

The Operations Engineering Technician at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) plays a crucial role in overseeing the life cycle performance and condition assessment of all built and natural infrastructure assets. This position is essential for ensuring that electrical and interior electrical systems are maintained to the highest standards, aligning with the company's commitment to supporting critical missions as a government contractor. The technician will be responsible for managing electrical programs and requirements, identifying deficiencies in facilities and equipment, and recommending corrective actions along with cost estimates for improvements. In this role, the technician will develop and maintain processes to analyze electrical consumption, which is vital for demand management analysis and implementing corrective measures. The technician will also incorporate existing Facility Condition Assessment Data into their evaluations, ensuring that all asset condition data is accurately documented and reported. This includes using mobile technology to document components encountered during assessments and providing justifications for the physical condition determinations. The technician will ensure that all asset condition data is collected in authorized IT systems and is accessible for activity assets. Additionally, the technician will review Statements of Work (SOW), contract specifications, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for electrical construction and repair projects to ensure that the government receives high-performing, warrantied products. Assessments of government facilities will be conducted using professional expertise to determine physical condition and compliance with specifications and building codes. The technician will also be responsible for organizing and filing both hard copy and electronic documents related to their work.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for electrical and interior electrical Sub-AMPs, electrical programs and requirements.
  • Identify and accurately document current facility and equipment conditions and deficiencies.
  • Recommend actions for correcting all deficiencies, including cost estimates as well as recommended improvements.
  • Develop and maintain a process to analyze electrical consumption to determine the need for demand management analysis and corrective measures.
  • Incorporate pre-existing Facility Condition Assessment Data.
  • Provide timely and detailed reports and accurate data sheets for each facility/asset.
  • Use appropriate mobile technology to document components encountered during assessments and provide justification for determination of the physical condition.
  • Ensure asset condition data is collected in authorized IT systems and is visible for activity assets.
  • Review SOW, contract specifications, RFPs for facilities electrical construction/repair projects to ensure high performing warrantied products.
  • Perform assessments of government facilities using professional expertise and judgment to determine physical condition and conformance with specifications and building codes.
  • Organize and file hard copy and electronic folders and documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years' experience as an electrician.
  • Experience with maintenance, repair and engineering facility experience related to the specific Activity Management Plan (AMP) responsibilities, electrical programs and requirements.
  • Completion of WMGT 417 and 231 and WENG 200 training courses.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
