The Operations Engineering Technician at Chugach Government Solutions (CGS) plays a crucial role in overseeing the life cycle performance and assessing the condition of all built and natural infrastructure assets. This position is essential for ensuring that facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, contributing to the overall mission of the organization. The technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including the estimation of project costs, managing warranty programs, and developing operations and maintenance manuals. A key aspect of the role involves identifying and documenting the current conditions and deficiencies of facilities and equipment, and recommending corrective actions along with cost estimates for improvements. In addition to these responsibilities, the Operations Engineering Technician will develop and maintain processes to analyze electrical consumption, which is vital for demand management analysis and implementing corrective measures. The technician will also incorporate existing Facility Condition Assessment Data into their evaluations and provide timely, detailed reports and accurate data sheets for each facility or asset. Utilizing mobile technology to document components encountered during assessments is another critical function of this role, ensuring that all findings are justified and well-documented. The technician will ensure that asset condition data is collected in authorized IT systems, such as IWIMS, ACERP, ACESPM, BUILDER, and NexGen, making it accessible for activity assets. Furthermore, the technician will review Statements of Work (SOW), contract specifications, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for facilities electrical construction and repair projects, ensuring that the government receives high-performing, warrantied products. Assessing government facilities using professional expertise and judgment to determine their physical condition and compliance with specifications and building codes is also a key responsibility. The role requires strong organizational skills to manage both hard copy and electronic documents effectively.
