About the position

At Chugach Government Solutions (CGS), the Operations Engineering Structural Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing the life cycle performance and condition assessment of both built and natural infrastructure assets. This position is essential for ensuring that all structural programs and requirements are met, and it involves a comprehensive approach to identifying and documenting the current conditions and deficiencies of facilities and equipment. The technician will be responsible for recommending corrective actions, including cost estimates and improvements, to enhance the overall performance of the infrastructure. The technician will also develop and maintain processes to analyze electrical consumption, which is vital for demand management analysis and implementing corrective measures. Utilizing pre-existing Facility Condition Assessment Data, the technician will provide timely and detailed reports, along with accurate data sheets for each facility or asset. The role requires the use of mobile technology to document components encountered during assessments, ensuring that justifications for the physical condition determinations are well-supported. In addition, the technician will ensure that asset condition data is collected in authorized IT systems, such as IWIMS, ACERP, ACESPM, BUILDER, and NexGen, making it accessible for activity assets. The technician will review Statements of Work (SOW), contract specifications, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for electrical construction and repair projects, ensuring that the government receives high-performing, mission-capable products that are warrantied. Assessments of government facilities will be conducted using professional expertise and judgment to determine physical condition and compliance with specifications and building codes. The technician will also be responsible for organizing and filing both hard copy and electronic documents, along with any other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for structural programs and requirements.
  • Identify and accurately document current facility and equipment conditions and deficiencies.
  • Recommend actions for correcting all deficiencies, including cost estimates and recommended improvements.
  • Develop and maintain a process to analyze electrical consumption for demand management analysis and corrective measures.
  • Incorporate pre-existing Facility Condition Assessment Data.
  • Provide timely and detailed reports and accurate data sheets for each facility/asset.
  • Use appropriate mobile technology to document components encountered during assessments and provide justification for determination of the physical condition.
  • Ensure asset condition data is collected in authorized IT systems and is visible for activity assets.
  • Review SOW, contract specifications, and RFPs for facilities electrical construction/repair projects.
  • Perform assessments of government facilities to determine physical condition and conformance with specifications and building codes.
  • Organize and file hard copy and electronic folders and documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten years' experience in civil structures, carpentry/vertical construction.
  • Experience with maintenance, repair, and engineering facility experience related to the specific Activity Management Plan (AMP).
  • Completion of WMGT 417 and 231 and WENG 200 and 440 training courses.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
