About the position

The REV Group Operations Excellence (OpEx) Manager - Fire Division Black Belt is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and executing critical operational excellence process improvements. This position focuses on achieving hard savings and enhancing performance across various metrics, including quality, delivery, cost reduction, and overall leadership and teamwork at all Fire REV Group Business Units. The OpEx Manager will lead continuous improvement projects that align with the business goals outlined in the REV Group's Strategy & Goal Deployment Plan (GDP) and Annual Operation Plan objectives. The role requires collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Fire VP of Operations, Business Unit Managers of Operations Excellence, Vice Presidents/General Managers, and the Division President. The OpEx Manager will develop and deploy the REV Operations Excellence program, which is a critical component of the REV Business System, ensuring visibility and engagement across the entire division and segment. This position will lead complex, high-priority improvement projects as directed by senior leadership, providing essential guidance and motivation to the Business Unit REV OpEx Managers and their teams. In addition to project leadership, the OpEx Manager will provide ongoing coaching and support to the BU REV OpEx Managers, helping them to effectively utilize the REV Operations Excellence methodology in their projects. This includes conducting onsite training, serving as a technical expert in Lean Six Sigma tools, and designing and delivering OpEx training throughout the organization. The ultimate goal is to drive a sustainable cultural change across the REV Group, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and prioritize operational excellence process improvements across Fire REV Group Business Units.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aligned with the REV Group's Strategy & Goal Deployment Plan and Annual Operation Plan objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and deploy the REV Operations Excellence program.
  • Support the execution of the REV Group's Strategic Business Plan and Goal Deployment Process.
  • Lead complex, high-priority improvement projects as directed by senior leadership.
  • Provide coaching and support to BU REV OpEx Managers in utilizing the REV Operations Excellence methodology.
  • Conduct onsite training and coaching to ensure project progress and development of BU REV OpEx Managers.
  • Serve as a technical expert and instructor on Lean Six Sigma tools.
  • Design and deliver OpEx training to REV OpEx Leaders and other staff as needed.
  • Develop tools and models to enhance knowledge and engagement in Lean Six Sigma practices across the organization.
  • Drive a sustainable cultural change focused on continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree minimum; Master's degree preferred in engineering, technical, business, economics, or finance fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement roles.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt or Lean Sensei Certification required.
  • Extensive knowledge and expert use of Lean Six Sigma, Change, and Business Management tools and methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage change programs.
  • Experience in training and coaching others in Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with heavy industrial machinery, automotive, or marine manufacturing industries is a plus.
  • Engaging public speaking skills and highly developed presentation abilities.
