The Operations Field Coordinator for Public Works in the South Service Unit is a vital role responsible for overseeing the construction and maintenance of transportation assets within Hillsborough County, Florida. This position entails performing technical duties that include identifying and developing scopes of work, estimating manpower and materials required for various projects, and ensuring compliance with established standards. The coordinator will evaluate the condition of transportation assets such as roads, bridges, sidewalks, and stormwater systems, and will be tasked with locating and coding these assets to facilitate effective maintenance scheduling and project planning. In this role, the coordinator will also assess any immediate threats to public health and safety, taking necessary actions to mitigate hazards. The position requires a thorough inspection of completed work projects to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications. The coordinator will recommend maintenance schedules and inspection frequencies, oversee contractor construction projects, and ensure adherence to County standards and ADA requirements.
