About the position

The Operations and HR Manager at Murrar Law, LLC is responsible for overseeing human resources functions, project management, and vendor relationships within a Milwaukee-based immigration law firm. This role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and requires a professional who is organized, empathetic, and skilled in customer service, particularly in dealing with clients who may be victims of crime.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Manage payroll, benefits, and HR compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement HR policies to promote a positive work environment and ensure company standards.
  • Handle employee performance evaluations, development plans, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Coordinate and lead various projects within the firm, ensuring alignment with firm goals and timelines.
  • Develop project plans, track progress, and ensure completion on schedule.
  • Act as a point of contact for the management team, providing regular updates to the Attorney/Owner.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient workflows.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective services.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements and manage vendor performance.
  • Oversee office supplies, software, and other resources, ensuring timely procurement and replenishment.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in HR, project management, or office operations, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of immigration law firm operations is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
