About the position

The Operations Implementation Specialist at California ISO plays a crucial role in supporting change initiatives and projects that impact System Operators. This position ensures operational preparedness and readiness by participating in requirements documentation, user acceptance testing, and procedure maintenance. The specialist acts as a liaison between IT and Operations, facilitating communication and coordination of various change initiatives that affect operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in change initiatives impacting Operations, including PMO projects and standards changes.
  • Applies knowledge of System Operations to assess impacts on processes, job tasks, and technology systems.
  • Engages in user requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and documentation updates.
  • Supports the change management process and acts as a liaison between IT and Operations.
  • Gathers and communicates updates from change management reviews to ensure coordination.
  • Works with business units to support operational procedure development and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitates periodic procedure review processes and collaborates with content owners and end users.
  • Tracks feedback, changes, comments, and approvals for internal operating procedures.
  • Develops new procedures and incorporates them into the standard maintenance process.
  • Participates in process improvement activities to enhance departmental and cross-functional processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2 or more years of related experience in requirements analysis or system testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to use deductive reasoning and analytical thinking with sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
