About The Position

The M/I Homes Intern Program offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to engage in challenging assignments within the homebuilding industry. Interns will gain real-world experience, develop skills, and learn about corporate culture while contributing to various departments. This program is designed to foster teamwork and communication, providing interns with a sense of accomplishment and potential pathways to future employment.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Construction Management, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Completion of sophomore year or higher preferred.
• Able to work 40 hours per week during the internship.
• Valid driver's license and transportation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing parts, goods, and services for the Purchasing department.
• Support the analysis of supplier quotes and negotiations.
• Help the Starts and Permitting Coordinators in obtaining Architectural Master Plan approvals.
• Determine Permit and Impact fees for new communities.
• Prepare permit applications and gain exposure to municipal processes.
