About the position

The Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) at BAE Systems is designed to accelerate the development and career of highly-motivated recent college graduates who aspire to achieve their leadership potential. This program offers a unique opportunity to engage in challenging and rewarding rotational assignments, technical and leadership training, advanced education, and mentorship. Participants will experience a special camaraderie on a team dedicated to protecting what really matters, while also gaining valuable insights into the operations of a leading defense contractor. As an OLDP participant, you will undergo three one-year rotations, each with increasing responsibility. These rotations will provide diverse experiences in Supplier Partnerships, Manufacturing, and Program & Strategy, allowing you to develop a comprehensive understanding of operational areas and disciplines. The program also emphasizes networking opportunities and strategic project initiatives, ensuring that participants are well-prepared for future leadership roles. The OLDP is flexible, allowing participants to have input on their second and third rotational assignments and geographic locations based on business needs. Additionally, participants are required to complete a Master's Degree, with BAE Systems offering robust tuition assistance for graduate school. The program is designed to facilitate personal growth through an annual leadership development conference, providing personalized training and networking opportunities with senior executives. Overall, the OLDP is a three-year rotational program aimed at developing entry-level individuals into future leaders within BAE Systems. Participants will have the chance to work in various operational functions and product groups across the country, gaining invaluable experience and skills along the way.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in three one-year rotations in various operational functions including Supplier Partnerships, Manufacturing, and Program & Strategy.
  • Engage in technical and leadership training to develop essential skills for future leadership roles.
  • Complete a Master's Degree with tuition assistance provided by BAE Systems.
  • Network with senior executives and other leadership development program participants during the annual leadership development conference.
  • Work on strategic project initiatives and gain exposure to diverse experiences within operational areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities in academic and non-academic pursuits.
  • Participation in a variety of extracurricular activities.
  • Ability to relocate during the rotational program to experience different groups and processes.
  • Effective communication skills and active listening abilities.
  • Capacity and motivation for hard work.
