About the position

The Riverdale Mill is currently seeking an Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) to lead and manage the manufacturing work systems (MWS) processes for the Paper department. This fully integrated paper mill produces both linerboard and uncoated freesheet grades, employing approximately 725+ people. The OMC will be responsible for overseeing maintenance priorities and coordinating the safe and efficient execution of daily, field day, and annual outage maintenance activities for the Paper Department. This role requires a strong focus on operations, maintenance, technical aspects, and people management. As the champion of MWS processes, the OMC will lead daily, weekly, and annual outage planning meetings, ensuring effective communication with Front Line Leaders (FLLs) and operating crews to prepare for operational activities. The OMC will utilize GMS-based processes and systems to deliver results, fostering a strong partnership with the Maintenance Department to achieve targets in safety, employee engagement, reliability, cost, quality, and productivity. The role also involves implementing reliability excellence initiatives, managing area costs and budget achievement, and seeking out best practices through collaboration with teams, databases, vendors, and technical resources. The OMC will promote and deliver results on reliability systems to achieve year-over-year improvement goals and champion 5S principles within the department. Additionally, the OMC will fulfill weekend duty roles as needed, contributing to the overall success of the Paper Department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance priorities for the Paper Department.
  • Coordinate daily and outage maintenance activities for the Paper machine.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and annual outage MWS planning meetings.
  • Communicate with FLLs and operating crews for operational preparation activities.
  • Deliver results through GMS based processes and systems.
  • Interface with the Maintenance Department to establish strong partnerships.
  • Manage area costs and budget achievement.
  • Implement reliability excellence initiatives such as work systems and precision maintenance.
  • Build and execute consistent operating practices across all shifts.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure quality parameters are achieved.
  • Seek out and implement best practices using teams and technical resources.
  • Champion 5S principles and participate in audits.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Paper Machines Operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of improving employee engagement.
  • Completion of Front Line Leader modules and Certification, or enrollment in a Front Line Leader course with expected completion in 12 months.
