About the position

The Operations and Maintenance Coordinator at Georgia-Pacific plays a vital role in managing maintenance and operational spending within the Brunswick Cellulose facility. This position involves collaborating with mill leaders to prioritize maintenance tasks, forecast spending plans, and ensure the long-term success of operations. The coordinator will oversee work requests, manage contracts, and analyze equipment reliability to develop improvement strategies, all while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage maintenance and miscellaneous operations spending for designated operating area.
  • Participate in Mill Spend Evaluation meetings, presenting planned and unplanned spending on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Participate in Work Prioritization meetings to ensure proper scheduling of work execution.
  • Review submitted work requests for accuracy and convert them to work orders as needed.
  • Manage existing contracts, invoices, and accruals for correctness.
  • Monitor Work Process Status & Aging dashboards and keep them updated.
  • Ensure compliance with the Management of Change Process for non-standard work.
  • Review and follow up on emergency work execution to ensure completeness and necessary follow-up work.
  • Manage forecasts for Extraordinary Maintenance needs and full-year spending plans.
  • Analyze loss analysis and asset tracking data to identify reliability and performance issues and develop improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with engineers and department leaders on critical equipment strategies.
  • Schedule reliability activities based on resource availability and priority.
  • Provide technical support on capital and non-capital projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
  • Experience leading and facilitating meetings.
  • Ability to respectfully challenge perceived needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a mechanical or electrical maintenance role.
  • Direct experience in a pulp and paper manufacturing facility.
  • Experience using Asset Suite, Passport, and Excel.
  • Previous experience in a Gatekeeper or Asset Availability Leader role.
