About the position

The Operations Analyst position at Delicatessen Services Co., LLC is pivotal in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations, particularly in inventory management and plant operations. This role involves providing comprehensive inventory and operations analysis to support sound business decisions regarding current and future inventory or production needs. The individual will be tasked with examining existing business processes, particularly those related to computer software, and identifying new, streamlined, and more efficient methods for accomplishing tasks. This could involve improvements in inventory management or plant operations at a headquarters level. Key responsibilities include collecting and organizing information from various sources, including computer data, and conducting interviews with employees and managers to gain insights into operational challenges. The Operations Analyst will analyze data to determine its relevance to specific problems and select appropriate methods for analysis. Utilizing statistical techniques, the analyst will develop solutions to address business challenges, focusing on areas such as warehouse operations, inventory control, order fulfillment, labor utilization, and overall process improvement. The role also requires the development and maintenance of a comprehensive set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness. The analyst will utilize data modeling and visualization techniques to communicate insights effectively. Additionally, they will gather information on sales trends and develop presentations for management regarding short- and long-term company needs. The position involves developing reporting tools for planners and management, forecasting tools for inventory builds for new products, and minimizing liability on sunset items. The Operations Analyst will collaborate with software experts in the launch and maintenance of new software related to operations and assist in the development and implementation of inventory management and supply chain initiatives that align with overall company goals. Furthermore, the analyst will analyze forward buys to reduce excess inventory exposure and assess current stocking locations for potential inefficiencies that could be addressed through location changes or deliveries.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Inventory, or related field or equivalent knowledge.
  • Three years' experience in a food-related environment, preferably two years in a leadership role in production planning or related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to present information clearly and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and computer skills to support decision-making processes.
  • Current knowledge of advanced inventory management and control processes, preferably in an SAP-like system.
  • Proven work experience as an Operations Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using statistical and database software.
  • Consulting and project management expertise.
