About the position

Indiana Mentor, a part of the Sevita family, is dedicated to providing Residential and Treatment Foster Care services to youth who may be facing out-of-home placements, transitioning back into the family home or independent living alternatives, or involved in the juvenile justice system. The Operations Management Area Director plays a crucial role in this mission by providing direction, leadership, and supervision of professional and other staff at the program site. This position is essential for ensuring that operations run smoothly and that quality services are delivered to the individuals served. The Area Director is responsible for the financial performance of the area business unit, which includes reviewing financial statements, overseeing purchasing, ensuring billing compliance, and maintaining proper documentation. This role also involves implementing the area’s core growth strategy to increase census, maximize utilization and occupancy percentages, and assist with new start development. Building and maintaining relationships with case managers, referral agents, local legislators, and government officials is a key aspect of this position, as is lobbying on behalf of the individuals served. Additionally, the Area Director will implement strategies to maintain and foster relations with individuals served, mentors, families, and guardians, ensuring that the needs of all stakeholders are met effectively.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three to six years of related experience in the human services industry.
  • Significant management experience in the human services industry.
  • Master's degree in Human Services or other relevant education and experience as required by state.
  • Licensure as required by state.
  • Strong leadership qualities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Effective communication skills to manage relationships.
  • A commitment to quality in all aspects of work.
