About the position

This role is responsible for managing production operations at the facility level, ensuring that established goals and objectives regarding quality, team member engagement, price, safety, efficiency, and customer requirements are achieved. The position involves leading a team, establishing production objectives, and continuously improving operational processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team and have authority to hire and performance-manage team members.
  • Lead, supervise, and manage 1-5 employees.
  • Establish production department objectives in quality, safety, productivity, and cost while seeking continuous improvement.
  • Develop methods to monitor and measure department activity to control production efficiency and profitability indicators.
  • Provide reporting managers with necessary information, training, direction, guidance, and resources to accomplish objectives.
  • Ensure operational compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in safety, employment, quality, and good manufacturing practices.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, products, and systems.
  • Work with current, new, and potential customers during presentations and reviews, providing expertise in production operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures that support objectives.
  • Coordinate activities across Operations, Quality, Safety, Human Resources, and Maintenance functions to address issues and achieve facility objectives.
  • Understand and practice appropriate safety procedures through education, training, and compliance with safety policies.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience supervising and managing departments and individuals involved in food processing is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities using effective organizational skills in a changing environment.
  • Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
