About the position

The Operations Manager (Business Unit Leader) at Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing activities within the Flowline, ensuring the delivery of fully equipped and certified aircraft on time and within budget. This role involves technical leadership, policy coordination, and the implementation of new processes to enhance performance management. The incumbent will also mentor employees and foster a culture of safety and quality within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage operations in the Flowline to deliver equipped and certified aircraft on time, quality, and cost.
  • Provide direction and oversight to production activities, achieving 95%+ In-station Build of aircraft.
  • Manage budgetary requirements for consumables, hand tools, and tooling maintenance.
  • Address needs concerning Work Orders, WIP materials management, and aircraft testing.
  • Direct aircraft manufacturing techniques and associated industrial processes.
  • Prevent and eliminate disturbances in the manufacturing process and monitor quality output.
  • Lead and mentor employees, establishing expectations for flexibility and skill requirements.
  • Manage the transfer of knowledge from trainers to employees through succession planning and training.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and airworthiness requirements for operations.
  • Function as a leader in observing OSHA rules and regulations, promoting safety.
  • Support analysis of Cost of Non Quality data to identify and eliminate defects in the manufacturing process.
  • Proactively identify and resolve problems to enhance workflow and collaboration with support staff.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure acquisition of vital materials and tools.
  • Manage departmental budgets and costs in accordance with AOP objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Aviation, Business or a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in aviation manufacturing.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a leadership position.
  • 5 or more years of experience in Aviation Production fields (mechanics/structure/electrics).
  • Experience with Quality/Logistics rules in aviation manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; SAP, MES & HMS preferred.
