About the position

As the Operations Manager for Aerospace Distribution at GXO, you will oversee critical operational areas to ensure smooth functioning and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills to engage the workforce, maintain customer loyalty, and uphold quality standards. You will be responsible for managing personnel, ensuring safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement in operations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers, vendors, and team members to ensure customer commitments are met
• Demonstrate an understanding of GXO's quality policies and establish procedures for maintaining quality objectives
• Provide guidance to supervisors regarding personnel, quality, and safety
• Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively
• Make recommendations on programs to improve operations
• Handle equipment and coordinate all maintenance needs with the maintenance team
• Ensure records are maintained appropriately and reports are completed in a timely manner
• Adhere to and enforce all safe work practices, ensuring the warehouse is compliant with OSHA and other pertinent standards/regulations

Requirements

• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and computerized scanner equipment
• Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field
• 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience
• Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment
• Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Process Improvement knowledge and experience
• Experience in warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL)
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment by monitoring and enforcing safety procedures across all departments
• Strong problem-solving techniques and statistical analysis skills
