About the position

The Operations Manager at Camden is responsible for overseeing the financial, administrative, and resident services functions of a multifamily portfolio consisting of two or more communities. This role involves managing facilities, vendor relationships, and resident interactions while supporting the General Manager in achieving community performance goals. The Operations Manager will also supervise maintenance teams and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, all while promoting a positive work culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the General Manager in the overall operation and success of the assigned multifamily portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and support departments to create and implement strategic plans.
  • Perform supervisory duties including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Promote employee engagement and maintain an open-door policy for addressing concerns.
  • Demonstrate understanding of apartment maintenance practices and assist with community maintenance.
  • Manage resident relations issues for the assigned portfolio.
  • Interface with the central processing team for essential functions.
  • Strategize to increase customer sentiment scores across the portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Assist in developing and managing a high-performing team.
  • Complete administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ensure community compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee new development or rehabilitation of a community.
  • Monitor social media channels and collaborate with the Sales Manager to enhance customer service.
  • Create goals to improve customer service while managing expenses.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of multifamily operations and problem-solving skills.
  • On-site experience in residential property management is required; supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic with leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
