About the position

The Operations Manager for Destination Accessibility at Adelante Development Center plays a crucial role in enhancing accessibility in New Mexico's tourism sector. This position oversees the daily operations of the Destination Accessibility program, which includes managing equipment rentals and advocating for accessible tourism. The Operations Manager leads a team, ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency while promoting inclusivity in travel experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the equipment rental operation and accessible tourism program, including staff supervision and warehouse management.
  • Act as a representative of Adelante and Destination Accessibility at public speaking engagements, including on-camera interviews and presentations.
  • Stay informed about the local tourism industry and present new ideas for program growth.
  • Research mobility equipment products and recommend new additions to the fleet.
  • Advocate for accessibility and identify areas for improvement in accessible tourism initiatives.
  • Plan and coordinate equipment pick-up and delivery routes, responding to customer needs and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Monitor reservations, communicate with customers regarding fulfillment, and ensure accurate data entry in the reservations system.
  • Oversee inventory management, including receiving, quality control, and auditing.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external contacts to maximize efficient services.
  • Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and discipline program staff, participating in the hiring process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent applicable experience required.
  • One or more years of related experience, preferably in a warehouse, retail, or customer service environment.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or seniors preferred.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience in the tourism industry.
  • Knowledge of mobility equipment and accessibility standards.
