About the position
The Operations Manager at Dogtopia of McKinney is responsible for leading the Daycare and Boarding Back of House team, ensuring a safe and clean environment for dogs while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a blend of management and operational skills, focusing on team development, financial oversight, and maintaining high standards of care for pets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for dogs and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating staffing schedules and monitor daily operations.
- Maintain optimum staffing and development with all employees.
- Lead by example by coaching the team to contribute to a positive culture.
- Deliver written performance reviews and acknowledge employee achievements.
- Onboard new employees and ensure proper training is provided.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for dogs and staff.
- Update cleaning schedules and hold the team accountable to safety standards.
- Manage groomers, ensuring quality control and safety.
- Develop the team in up-selling and using dog evaluations to grow revenue.
- Maintain controllable expenses within budgetary constraints.
- Communicate concerns or needs to the General Manager and franchise owner.
Requirements
- 2 years of professional pet care experience.
- 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
- 2 years of kennel experience.
- 1 year of operations management in a dog facility.
- Strong customer service skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in sales and customer service training.
- Certification in dog obedience and training.
