About the position

The Health Equity Program Manager at MUSC plays a crucial role in supporting health equity initiatives by coordinating program services, collecting and analyzing local data, and communicating findings to system leaders. This position is responsible for implementing hospital health equity initiatives, community health programs, and conducting community health needs assessments, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The manager will also assist in planning for health equity accreditation and support special projects to achieve departmental and system goals.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the implementation of health equity priorities, data standards, disparity analysis, interventions, and outcomes measurement.
  • Supports the development and implementation of MUSC's health equity strategy, ensuring integration across policies, programs, and services.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify policies and programs to advance health equity through data-driven initiatives.
  • Designs, leads, and manages various projects requiring broad organizational support and input from multiple stakeholders.
  • Oversees quantitative analysis to support the implementation and monitoring of health equity initiatives, tracking milestones and synergy realization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Community Health, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience managing programs within community health, public health, or social services.
  • In-depth knowledge of public health and social determinants of health.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills for data collection, analysis, and evaluation.
  • Project management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Nice-to-haves
