About the position

The Operations Manager for HR and Administration at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR and administrative functions. This role is crucial in enhancing operational excellence by implementing system and process improvements, thereby minimizing costs and maximizing efficiencies. The position is based in Washington, DC, and reports directly to the President of ITIF, collaborating with a co-manager to strengthen the organization's internal capacity and support its growth.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing systems and processes and implement improvements in areas such as HR, administration, and accounting.
  • Coordinate HR and benefits administration in partnership with affiliate organization.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding of ITIF staff.
  • Assist in payroll for employees in the U.S., Canada, UK, China, and Korea and coordinate the payment of contractors.
  • Participate in ITIF's annual budgeting process; monitor progress and changes; support account management and the preparation of monthly financial reports to ensure executive leaders have accurate, complete, and timely financial statements.
  • Manage grant awards, adhering to the Uniform Guidance for federal grants, and implement a contracts management system.
  • Manage financial disclosures and public reporting processes such as those for the EU Transparency Register and nonprofit databases such as Guidestar and Charity Navigator.
  • Ensure HR and legal compliance and coordinate insurance matters.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in nonprofit management, operations, and HR; accounting experience is a plus.
  • Highly efficient, industrious, results-oriented habits and approach to project management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and organizational processes simultaneously.
  • High standards of quality assurance and professionalism.
  • Keen interest and deep familiarity with nonprofit organizations involved in public policy, politics, or public affairs.
  • Efficiency in Excel and other Office 365 applications.
