About the position

The Operations Manager for Hydrogen Fueling Stations is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of hydrogen fueling stations across Southern and Northern California. The role focuses on ensuring efficient and safe fueling operations while delivering exceptional customer service. The Operations Manager will lead a team of technicians, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple fueling stations
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fueling, maintenance, and inventory management
  • Train the technician team on safety policies and procedures
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure timely completion
  • Hire, direct, and audit contractors for various services at the stations
  • Assist with planning and execution of reliability improvement projects
  • Ensure completion of assigned daily rounds and checksheets
  • Create and present station performance metrics and analyze performance data
  • Resolve operational issues promptly to minimize disruptions
  • Manage Station Property Owner relationships and commercial matters including lease negotiations and dispute resolutions
  • Recruit, train, and mentor hydrogen fueling station technicians
  • Set performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
  • Foster a positive work environment and conduct regular team meetings
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and develop customer service protocols
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements
  • Implement marketing initiatives to drive sales and customer loyalty
  • Ensure compliance with permits, business licenses, and safety measures
  • Maintain records related to compliance and safety
  • Conduct onsite safety observations and audits
  • Act as Point of Contact with Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management in hydrogen fueling, CNG fueling, Oil & Gas, petrochemical, industrial gas, or heavy machinery repair
  • Strong knowledge of industrial operations and maintenance best practices
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations for Lock-out / Tag-out, Hazardous Work Permit, and Confined Space Entry
  • Experience operating facilities requiring compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) is preferred
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High proficiency in using computer systems and software for reporting and analysis including MS Office
