About The Position
As an Operations Manager Intern at Target's Regional Distribution Center in Amsterdam, NY, you will embark on a hands-on training program designed to develop your skills in operations leadership. This internship, starting in the summer of 2025, offers a unique opportunity to experience firsthand what it’s like to lead a team within a supply chain facility. You will work closely with experienced managers and team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of Target's supply chain operations and what it takes to excel in a management role. Throughout the internship, you will be engaged in various activities that will help you learn how to lead, motivate, and influence a team. You will have the chance to lead a department, support daily operations, and ensure that safety and productivity are prioritized. Your responsibilities will include problem-solving, conducting real-time observations, and driving results while maintaining a high standard of quality and inventory accuracy. You will also be involved in process improvement initiatives, leveraging continuous improvement methodologies to create a lean and efficient operation. The program is structured to provide you with ongoing support and development through mentorship and training. You will participate in daily meetings, track key performance indicators, and engage in various operational tasks that will enhance your leadership capabilities. By the end of the internship, you will have gained valuable experience in building and managing a team culture, understanding retail business fundamentals, and developing strategies to achieve business goals.
