About the position

The Operations Manager for metal and wood fabrication is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the plant, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves leading process improvement initiatives, managing production personnel, and collaborating with various departments to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the plant and production team.
• Establish department goals and objectives, tracking progress in each area.
• Lead and facilitate process improvement teams.
• Manage technical issues impacting production.
• Collaborate on capital project identification and implementation for process improvement.
• Plan and schedule production control and monitoring.
• Oversee inventory management and quality assurance control.
• Conduct root cause investigations for quality and scrap issues.
• Maintain production machinery and coordinate maintenance functions.
• Review and sign process sheets for accuracy.
• Ensure regular preventative maintenance and housekeeping is conducted.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of four years of experience in manufacturing or related operations.
• Two years of lead or direct supervision experience preferred.
• Experience in a GMP and/or ISO regulated manufacturing environment required.
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools.
• Six Sigma Certification preferred.
• Experience with ERP and Manufacturing Processing Systems (MPS).
• Strong project management skills and leadership capabilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with NCR process, CAPA, and other quality system components.
• Knowledge of sheet metal and wood fabrication.
