About the position

The Operations Manager at Central City Millworks is responsible for overseeing multiple fast-paced construction projects, ensuring effective project management from design through to closeout. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide project managers and superintendents, manage timelines, and maintain quality control while fostering a high-performance team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Managers and Superintendents across multiple projects
  • Assume leadership and guidance of multiple projects from handoff to closeout
  • Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously from design and pre-construction through closeout
  • Analyze project scope, set timelines and schedules for submittals, fabrication, & installation
  • QC of submittals/shop drawings
  • Communicate directly with Contractors, Architects, Owners, Vendors, & Subcontractors
  • Formulate RFI's and Change Orders
  • Determine material takeoffs such as plywood, laminate, upholstery, & hardware
  • Verify field conditions and measurements and coordinate with other trades
  • Review subcontractor invoicing and draft pay applications
  • Develop high-performance teams through hiring, supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Ensure timely and appropriate staffing for each project
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing groups to secure new work, including the selection of project teams in response to RFP's
  • Oversee the development of the master project schedule and manage its implementation and progress
  • Oversee the administration of the quality assurance/quality control program
  • Leadership responsibility for subcontract preparation and execution, claims and change order management, schedule, and requisitions
  • Drive and enforce safety protocols by staff
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethics and compilation requirements on all projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of project management experience
  • Strong project management skills with experience in project scheduling and coordination
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore and Bluebeam
  • Knowledge of construction processes and ability to read blueprints
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Primavera and Microsoft Project
  • Excellent time management and communication skills for effective project execution

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with residential and commercial construction
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet
  • Experience in project implementation
