About the position

The Operations Manager of Valve & Mechanical Services is responsible for overseeing all valve repair and machining activities at the facility. This role emphasizes safety, quality, production efficiency, and cost management. The manager will coordinate personnel, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintain effective operations within the valve repair department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Valve Repair/machining activities with a focus on safety, quality, production, profit, and cost.
  • Coordinate and supervise Valve Repair/machining activities, including inventory and purchasing, to ensure product availability and efficient resource use.
  • Assign work to Valve Repair personnel, set work schedules, inspect work, and evaluate performance.
  • Directly supervise and motivate all Valve Repair production personnel, ensuring efficiency and quality in supervisory and staff roles.
  • Plan schedules for Valve Repair lead hands and machinists.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure all work meets quality requirements.
  • Ensure all Valve Repair personnel are properly certified and trained according to safety relief procedures.
  • Inspect Valve Repair facilities and equipment, making necessary changes in space allocation and product storage.
  • Evaluate and recommend major equipment additions or modifications.
  • Maintain accurate Valve Repair timelines and develop production goals, tracking results for jobs in progress.
  • Monitor, plan, and schedule jobs to ensure on-time shipments and maximize efficiency.
  • Enforce policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in operations management, particularly in valve repair or mechanical services.
  • Strong understanding of safety and quality control procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with inventory management and purchasing processes.

  • Familiarity with National Board certifications and safety relief procedures.
