About the position

As an Operations Manager at Global Security Consulting, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, ensuring that all security functions are executed in compliance with TSA regulations and corporate policies. This position is not just about managing day-to-day operations; it involves leading a diverse team of Aviation Security Officers, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring that all procedures align with the standards set by the company, TSA, airport authorities, and clients. You will be responsible for staffing, scheduling, and training, ensuring that all personnel are adequately prepared to meet the demands of a dynamic airport environment. In this role, you will also be tasked with evaluating station attendance and performance, administering corrective measures when necessary, and ensuring that payroll reporting adheres to established guidelines. Your ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients will be crucial, as you will conduct daily briefings and coordinate training efforts with the Training and Compliance department. The Operations Manager is expected to safeguard company equipment and vehicles while providing exceptional customer service to clients, ensuring a pleasant experience for travelers at the airport. Working at the airport presents unique challenges and opportunities, and as an Operations Manager, you will be at the forefront of protecting the traveling public while contributing to a positive airport experience. This position requires a proactive thinker with strong interpersonal skills, capable of navigating the complexities of airport operations and leading a team to success.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all security functions are performed in accordance with TSA regulations and corporate policies.
  • Responsible for station staffing and development of scheduling procedures, including initial badging and licensing.
  • Ensure staffing and scheduled hours are in accordance with contractual agreements with clients.
  • Evaluate station attendance and performance deficiencies and administer corrective measures in accordance with Human Resources policies.
  • Administer payroll reporting within established guidelines and deadlines.
  • Ensure cost-effective measures across the station.
  • Responsible for station compliance relating to all reporting procedures; administer procedural changes and ensure effective communication with staff.
  • Conduct daily briefings and occasional staff meetings.
  • Coordinate with the Training and Compliance department on all training of station personnel.
  • Safeguard company equipment and vehicles.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients.

Requirements

  • Must have 3+ years management experience.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Experience working with basic office equipment (copier, scanner, fax, printer).
  • Must be willing to pass a 10-year verifiable background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge with Customs seal as distributed by local airport authority and US Customs and Border Patrol.
  • A.C.E certification or willingness to obtain one.
