About the position

The Operations Manager at University Student Housing, LLC is responsible for leading the Operations Team and overseeing the daily operations of student housing communities. This role focuses on ensuring operational efficiencies, strong customer service, and the proper maintenance and appearance of all housing facilities. The Operations Manager will manage a team, implement best practices, and collaborate with university departments to enhance the resident experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management oversight of daily operations and resident relations across all communities.
  • Manage and develop a team of skilled professionals to achieve operational goals.
  • Ensure student staff are trained to operate at a high level of excellence.
  • Implement and monitor operational policies, recommending changes for improvement.
  • Assist with annual operating budgets and ensure properties operate within budget parameters.
  • Monitor and report financial and operational findings for all communities.
  • Collaborate with university departments for seamless operations.
  • Conduct regular physical property inspections to ensure maintenance and upkeep.
  • Identify risks and develop innovative solutions to potential problems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local housing laws and regulations.
  • Update USH policies to reflect current laws and regulations.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals.
  • Manage training and development of operations employees to maintain consistent service.
  • Promote the comfort and privacy of residents and maintain community security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in property management or related field.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with diverse constituencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams in a service-oriented operation.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and report data.
  • Adept at handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to resolve problems using sound judgment.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Maintain required clearances and training for the protection of minors.
