About the position

The Operations Manager at Altus Spine is responsible for overseeing the logistical aspects of surgical operations, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available for surgical cases. This role involves maintaining positive relationships with customers, managing inventory, and improving logistics processes to enhance efficiency. The position requires 24/7 availability for urgent inquiries and emphasizes the importance of accurate inventory management and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all surgical operations are equipped with necessary Altus equipment.
  • Develop an understanding of customer needs to avoid back orders.
  • Maintain positive business relationships with key customer personnel.
  • Provide 24/7 availability by phone for urgent inquiries.
  • Manage the storage, labeling, and real-time uploading of finished goods and instruments.
  • Oversee logistical aspects of product life cycles and minimize obsolescence.
  • Address customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Supervise sales order entries and shipments.
  • Communicate with customers and sales reps regarding shortages.
  • Correct discrepancies with sales reps and hospital purchasing departments.
  • Improve inventory management processes.
  • Stay informed of logistics technology advances and apply them to improve processes.
  • Coordinate with other departments to develop and improve SOPs.
  • Ensure all loaned material is audited upon return and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of inventory and shipping areas.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of expert knowledge of the Anatomy of Spine.
  • 5+ years of work experience in a medical manufacturing/sales environment.
  • 2+ years in purchasing.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Biology or allied field.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP functions (i.e. Global Shop).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Project Management software.
  • Familiarity with inventory management best practices.
