About the position

Royal ReFresh is seeking an Operations Manager (Warehouse and Purchasing) to enhance the internal operations and infrastructure of our rapidly growing business. This role is crucial for ensuring customer satisfaction and retention by managing the warehouse, purchasing, and merchandising departments, while overseeing day-to-day functions and supervisory responsibilities in line with organizational policies and laws.

Responsibilities

  • Develop leadership talent and participate in organization structure design to facilitate the efficiency of teams and processes.
  • Support, interview, hire, train/develop employees.
  • Assign and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems, fostering employee morale.
  • Develop and lead the execution of warehousing, purchasing, and merchandising plans to support growth strategy and drive cost savings.
  • Generate warehouse productivity reports regarding order pick rates and performance for all order selectors.
  • Manage all aspects of purchasing and inventory levels within stocking parameters.
  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Manage supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, rebate programs, and ensure compliance with purchasing processes.
  • Oversee merchandising of market planograms and product databases to ensure they meet company standards, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Maintain the company price book, reviewing costs periodically and making necessary changes to prices to maintain designated margins.
  • Create and manage the micro market service schedule using routing software.
  • Schedule regular meetings with employees and foster open lines of communication with direct reports.
  • Ensure proper handling of perishable foods, inventory controls both in the warehouse and in the field; analyze financial reports to determine profitability and opportunities to improve ROI.
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed and that the warehouse operates in accordance with OSHA standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of supervisory/management experience leading a team.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a supply chain, warehousing, distribution, or similar environment.
  • Inventory management experience preferred.
  • Solid decision-making skills.
  • Strong, effective organizational skills required; detail-oriented; ability to multitask.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Possess excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
  • Maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of arithmetic and calculating figures.
  • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
