About the position

The Operations Manager (WMS 2) is a full-time, permanent role within the Health Services Quality Assurance Division, responsible for leading teams and managing business operations in a fast-paced environment. This position focuses on improving patient safety by overseeing the Complaint Intake/Compliance, Case Management, and Administrative units, while also supporting business continuity and office-wide operations. The Operations Manager provides technical and professional expertise in budget management, quality improvement, policy implementation, performance management, public disclosure, and data reporting. As a member of the management team, this role involves independent decision-making and collaboration across various departments to enhance operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Complaint Intake/Compliance, Case Management, and Administrative units.
  • Support business continuity functions and office-wide operations.
  • Provide technical and professional expertise in budget, quality improvement, policy, performance management, public disclosure, and data reporting.
  • Interpret and implement existing Departmental policies throughout the managed units.
  • Make recommendations for new policies and legislative proposals for agency leadership.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across the office, division, and agency.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience in public health, health care administration, public administration, business administration, criminal justice, law, law enforcement, or a related field, with two years managing professionals in these areas.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with two years of experience managing professionals in public health or related areas.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in managing resources and improving performance outcomes in a regulatory or public health environment.
  • Familiarity with state laws and federal regulations related to HSQA.
  • Ability to use computer word processing and input data into databases, with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with sensitive, confidential, and high-security materials.
