About the position

The Operations Manager at OTO Development is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring profitability while maintaining high standards of guest and team member satisfaction. This role involves coaching and supporting the hotel team, managing costs, ensuring cleanliness and functionality of the property, and fostering a positive work environment. The Operations Manager will also analyze financial performance, implement service strategies, and serve as a guest advocate to resolve operational issues.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and support hotel team to manage wages and controllable expenses while maintaining profit margins.
  • Manage costs within the hotel, including supplies, utilities, food and beverage, and labor expenses.
  • Ensure service, technical skills, and other training occurs throughout the property.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and functionality of the rooms and entire hotel building.
  • Run and oversee the housekeeping department effectively on a daily basis.
  • Review financial reports to understand property performance versus budget and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with direct reports and the entire team.
  • Solicit team member feedback and address concerns through an open door policy.
  • Hire team members demonstrating strong expertise and leadership.
  • Foster commitment to exceptional service and model desired behaviors in interactions with guests and team members.
  • Serve as a guest advocate and resolve operational issues.
  • Observe service behaviors and provide feedback to team members and supervisors.
  • Analyze service issues and identify trends to improve guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure the building is well maintained and meets guest expectations.
  • Make decisions to remove obstacles to success and ensure resources are available.
  • Inspire and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Administer policies fairly and evaluate team member performance appropriately.
  • Ensure property meets franchise standards and is a safe facility for guests and team members.
  • Communicate and ensure execution of hotel emergency procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of previous hotel management experience preferred.
  • Food and Beverage experience preferred.
  • Previous hotel leadership experience with proven success in leading teams.
  • Ability to coach, train, praise, and discipline employees effectively.
  • At least a high school diploma, with a college degree preferred.
  • Extensive financial knowledge and strong business acumen.
  • Valid driver's license from the appropriate state.
  • Drive for results demonstrated through successful performance in prior leadership positions.
  • Action orientation to work efficiently toward operational objectives.
  • Strong time management skills to meet commitments across multiple departments.
  • Customer focus to deliver optimal employee and customer satisfaction.
