About the position

Hexcel is currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location. The Operations Manager will have responsibility for providing leadership to the site in support of the manufacturing of honeycomb material. A successful candidate will achieve success through the collaborative alignment of process engineering, quality, and supply chain with a strong emphasis on safety, customer satisfaction, cost, supporting new product development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop processes to fully meet customer requirements, giving cost, quality, delivery, safety, and employee morale equal consideration.
  • Solve problems using cross-functional teams and utilizing continuous improvement techniques (LEAN and Six Sigma tools).
  • Increase throughput, reduce inventories, and reduce operating expenses to continually reduce overall costs.
  • Utilize Process Management Team efforts to meet quality, capital improvements, inventory, training, and environmental objectives.
  • Establish specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound (SMART) objectives.
  • Monitor progress through effective follow-through, linking to Plant and Strategic Objectives.
  • Manage Business Objectives to meet strategic plans.
  • Inspire, develop, and retain team members to create a strong succession plan and pool of professional talent.
  • Ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) is effectively implemented across all areas of responsibility.
  • Actively support and interact in monthly and/or plant refresher safety training.
  • Demonstrate/model the Hexcel Values and operate in compliance with all Hexcel policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) required, preferably in business or related technical field.
  • Minimum of five years related on-the-job experience in management, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, or other related experience.
  • Proven ability to improve processes and metrics through continuous improvement.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to speak to large groups.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation with excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Lean Six Sigma training and/or certification.
  • Aerospace industry experience including understanding of AS9100.
  • Materials management, logistics, and supply chain experience.
  • Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP/MES (Microsoft AX and Dassault Systems DELMIA Apriso preferred).
  • Experience with statistical software.
