About the position
The Operations Manager at Maersk is responsible for overseeing all activities related to operations and the development of company products. This role involves managing production and quality control standards, coordinating manufacturing activities, and ensuring that costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met. The Operations Manager will also supervise subordinate supervisors and a large team of employees across various departments, ensuring compliance with company policies and effective management of shop operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage all activities related to operations and development of company products.
- Provide input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new products.
- Establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls.
- Obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
- Guide the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel and material needs.
- Ensure all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities with other functions of the organization and suppliers.
- Review production and operating reports and resolve operational problems.
- Perform administrative activities associated with effective management of shop operations.
- Train and ensure compliance of all assigned employees with company policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of warehouse operations management experience.
- Minimum 1 year of cold storage experience required.
- Experience in a production-based, fast-paced environment.
- Warehouse performance management experience required.
- Familiarity with food safety policy (i.e. HACCP) is necessary.
