About the position

The Operations Manager at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is responsible for leading the operations team and moving crews, ensuring the daily operational aspects of the business are met. This role involves working closely with customers, vendors, and staff to achieve business goals, manage costs, and exceed customer expectations. The position oversees the Madison and Janesville locations, focusing on team development, employee scheduling, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in communication, performance, attitude, attendance, and work ethic.
• Responsible for team development and motivation.
• Interview, hire, and oversee new employee onboarding and training.
• Assist with employee scheduling, dispatch of movers and drivers, and daily record keeping.
• Responsible for employee development, accountability, and corrective action programs.
• Professionally handle customers and their concerns and oversee the damage resolution process.
• Coordinate and direct fleet maintenance and equipment inventory.
• Promote safety and uphold safety procedures and policies; ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines.
• Implement and maintain proper DOT program using electronic logging devices.
• Conduct safety spot checks to ensure all jobs are completed to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® standards.
• Maintain thorough understanding of all company products, services, and promotions.
• Develop strategic sales growth plans with the General Manager to ensure revenue and profit objectives are met.
• Assist in day-to-day organizational and clerical support tasks.
• Help develop brand recognition in the community.
• Manage warehouse/storage operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Driver's license with a good driving record.
• Willing to obtain a Fed Med Cad and complete a DOT Physical.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Commitment to customer service and the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK core values.
• Proficient with Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Nice-to-haves
