About the position

The Operations Manager at CBRE is responsible for leading engineering teams to ensure efficient facility management for a major telecommunications client. This role focuses on overseeing maintenance operations, optimizing system performance, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. The manager serves as a key liaison between the client and internal teams to support strategic initiatives and maintain high-quality facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and implement ongoing improvements to preventive maintenance programs.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel, and technicians.
  • Lead all aspects of building systems, including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical management; stay updated on the latest HVAC technology trends.
  • Maintain continuous communication with tenants, clients, owners, facility management teams, and vendors.
  • Assist in the solicitation and acquisition of new management contracts.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations (fires, evacuations, equipment failures) and address customer concerns.
  • Implement and administer inventory control programs; purchase parts and supplies as needed.
  • Develop specifications and assist in soliciting and administering maintenance/repair service contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, government agencies, and company directives regarding building operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of seven years of related experience (commercial building/engineering operations) and/or trade school training.
  • Universal EPA/CFC certification is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Local Operating Engineer's License or Trade License.
  • Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA).
  • Real Property Administrator (RPA).
  • Proficient computer skills; familiar with energy Management System (EMS) programming and fire alarm systems.
