About the position

The Operations Manager at Guardian Protection plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily service and installation activities across various sectors, including residential, commercial, and new construction projects. This position is essential in managing field staff, ensuring compliance with company standards and safety regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Operations Manager will be responsible for a team that includes Field Technicians, Field Supervisors, and Warehouse personnel, making leadership and team management skills crucial for success in this role. In this dynamic position, the Operations Manager will lead a team of field technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and performance. This includes training team members in servicing and installing alarm systems, promoting best practices, and ensuring that the team is well-equipped to meet customer needs. Collaboration with the local sales team is also a key aspect of the role, as the Operations Manager will work to share design opportunities, enhance installation designs, and reduce costs. The Operations Manager will conduct one-on-one coaching sessions and hold monthly team meetings to facilitate continuous improvement and communication within the team. Additionally, inventory management will be a significant responsibility, directing the warehouse team to maintain optimal product levels and control inventory effectively. Customer experience is paramount, and the Operations Manager will drive quality initiatives to promote customer retention, focusing on reducing warranty return jobs. Acting as the operational liaison for new construction customers, the Operations Manager will maintain relationships and manage expectations effectively. Feedback to the corporate team on best practices for service and installation will contribute to the overall improvement of the company, while striving to exceed operational and P&L performance expectations for the branch is a key goal.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily service and installation activities for residential, commercial, and new construction projects.
  • Manage field staff, including Field Technicians, Field Supervisors, and Warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and drive quality to promote customer retention.
  • Lead a team of field technicians, fostering a positive culture of excellence and performance.
  • Collaborate with the local sales team to share design opportunities and enhance installation designs.
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions and hold monthly team meetings for continuous improvement.
  • Direct the warehouse team to maintain inventory control and optimal product levels.
  • Act as the operational liaison for new construction customers, maintaining relationships and managing expectations.
  • Provide feedback to the corporate team on best practices for service and installation.
  • Maintain and strive to exceed operational and P&L performance expectations for the branch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in service and installation, preferably in the security alarm systems industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience with strong team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with low voltage wiring and security systems, including intrusion, Fire, CCTV, and Card Access systems.
  • Must have NICET and/or ESA certifications, or obtain within 6 months of start date.
  • Ability to obtain Local and State Licensing.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving history.
