About the position

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the Meetings & Events team at Your Event Solutions, ensuring that all events are executed flawlessly and in alignment with company standards and client expectations. This role involves managing a team of meeting planners, coordinators, and procurement specialists, and requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Operations to ensure operational efficiency, client satisfaction, and the successful delivery of events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Conduct regular 1:1's and annual performance reviews, providing constructive feedback.
  • Manage team schedules, workloads, and resources to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Operations to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are exceeded.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of meetings and events, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the management of financials and budgets related to event operations.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations to prepare and present regular reports on operational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of five years experience as a people leader.
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.

  • Familiarity with Cvent and Smartsheet.
