About the position

The Operations Manager at Oerlikon will oversee the daily activities and resources of a multi-million-dollar production operation in Agawam, MA. This role involves staff management, compliance, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective production processes. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for production scheduling, managing customer expectations, and driving business development in collaboration with the sales team.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervisor for all center production employees.
• Interact with customers to maintain effective working relationships.
• Daily management of all center production activities, including implementation of corporate directives and adherence to quality and safety systems.
• Partner with the sales team to drive business development and promote continuous improvement.
• Motivate, coach, and develop employees to establish a well-trained workforce.
• Control costs related to production operations.
• Provide ethical leadership and foster a team atmosphere.
• Manage actions resulting from internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience managing people.
• 3-5 years of experience managing production outcomes according to customer specifications.
• Previous coating industry experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Knowledge of quality ISO certifications.
• Strong engineering, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strategic and systematic thinker with problem-solving abilities.
• Proven record of training employees on safety and production processes.
• Strong knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
