About the position

The Operations Manager (OM) is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the store to achieve the company's business objectives, ensure customer satisfaction, and maximize sales. This role involves leading the store operations team, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing an engaging shopping experience for customers. The OM will also focus on team development, performance management, and effective communication with the Store Director to optimize staffing and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Build, coach, and maintain a store team to meet company vision and objectives.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and manage team members to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Serve as a role model and coach in customer and team member experiences.
  • Drive performance, set goals, and take follow-up actions with team members as needed.
  • Make employment decisions for operations team members, including hiring and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate with the Store Director to maximize staffing effectiveness and ensure compliance with timekeeping policies.
  • Review and analyze store financial data and develop budgets and strategies to maximize sales and profits.
  • Oversee task management by planning and scheduling team members for their shifts and tasks.
  • Manage store opening, closing, and front-end processes to ensure operational readiness.
  • Lead the execution of freight and stocking processes in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensure the store maintains a neat, clean, and safe environment while minimizing damages and shrink.
  • Address customer concerns in a timely manner and lead the team in customer satisfaction and development.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent; College degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of Management/Leadership experience or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of direct responsibility for leading 10 or more people in multiple departments.
  • At least 1 year of experience with annual revenue or operating budget responsibility of at least $5 million.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or team lift 100 lbs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
