About the position

The Operations Manager will provide program management support for the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program (SIOP), assisting US Navy clients in modernizing infrastructure at public shipyards. This role requires regular onsite work at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and involves managing operational activities, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage general activities of the organization's operations in a specific area.
  • Develop and implement company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
  • Evaluate and enhance current operational systems.
  • Prepare reports and audits to monitor and improve operations effectiveness.
  • Coordinate communication between different functions.
  • Provide project management support to assist the SIOP Shipyard Department with schedules, budget and cost estimating, risk, tracking deliverables, and quality management.
  • Support the development of the shipyard's Integrated Master Schedule for Area Development Plans.
  • Support schedule-focused meetings with stakeholders and conduct what-if analysis.
  • Support administrative and management duties including strategic communications and financial analysis.
  • Advise on the development and continuity of policies, programs, and operations of the SIOP Field Office.
  • Assist in formulating and evaluating the effectiveness of operating policies and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of overall organization activities and advise leadership on concerns.
  • Identify and prioritize actions requiring senior leadership decision-making authority.
  • Provide liaison regarding programmatic and administrative issues.
  • Develop long-range plans consistent with the organization's strategic vision.
  • Establish and track metrics to demonstrate individual and team performance.
  • Champion innovative ideas to improve the organization and foster continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years of professional experience managing and supporting Naval operations.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and work independently with little direction.
  • Experience with Naval Shipyard Operations and large infrastructure construction projects.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment.

Benefits

  • Target salary range of $150,000-$170,000 commensurate with experience.
