About the position

The Operations Manager for Mobile Engineering Services is responsible for overseeing the management, supervision, and operation of engineering and maintenance services across assigned facilities. This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective services while managing a team of engineers and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily working staff levels according to operational goals and facility needs.
  • Manage engineering team resources for timely and cost-effective labor allocation.
  • Ensure engineering staff are qualified and trained for their duties as Mobile Engineers.
  • Supervise ongoing training programs and develop additional training processes as needed.
  • Identify maintenance objectives for properties and document preventive and repair maintenance procedures.
  • Identify safety hazards and implement remediation to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines related to building equipment and systems.
  • Assist Project Management in developing and executing HVAC Capital work plans for infrastructure upgrades and equipment replacements.
  • Provide effective communication and support to Property Manager and Project Manager teams for seamless service delivery.
  • Plan, execute, and close out all work efforts according to industry practices and customer specifications.
  • Maintain required property documentation for regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
  • Participate in the company's purchasing initiatives for maintenance and repair materials.
  • Monitor and report on work performance metrics, budget performance, and service cost projections.
  • Conduct routine on-site inspections of all maintained properties.
  • Manage Mobile Engineering staff including payroll, work delivery, and training processes.
  • Interact cooperatively with engineering labor unions as applicable.

Requirements

  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Universal CFC refrigerant recovery certification.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of technical and supervisory experience in building operational engineering.
  • Strong background in technical aspects of packaged HVAC equipment repair, maintenance, and system design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer-based energy management systems (EMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Proficiency in Office systems such as Word and Excel.
