About the position

The Operations Manager at Midwest Motor Express, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the freight operations at the Wenatchee, WA terminal. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating operations to align with company objectives, ensuring efficient management of line haul loading and various operational activities. The Operations Manager will also be involved in personnel management, training, and formulating policies for the transportation system.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs, coordinates and controls the freight operations of an agent and/or company terminal.
• Directs all management functions in the scope of operations assigned.
• Coordinates the work of operations activities including pickup and delivery operations, dock operations, and inbound/outbound road operations.
• Initiates, compiles and disseminates information and statistics related to operational problems and costs.
• Selects and recommends personnel for various positions and trains assigned personnel.
• Responsible for manpower planning and employment, including labor cost control.
• Formulates policies, programs, and procedures for the transportation system.

Requirements

• 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years transportation experience in supervisor or above capacity
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Computer skills - AS400 experience, email, Excel, data entry, etc.
