About the position

The Operations Manager at CDS Logistics is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehousing and logistics operations at a facility, ensuring high operational standards and customer satisfaction. This role involves managing personnel, fostering relationships with contract drivers, and driving operational performance through effective communication and leadership. The Operations Manager will report directly to the Regional Operations Manager and will play a key role in achieving financial goals and maintaining compliance within the logistics operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support the team to execute inbound and outbound demands for the facility.
• Manage relationships with independent contract drivers and third-party service providers.
• Create an environment that drives operational performance improvements and meets compliance requirements.
• Work closely with the Director of Operations and HR to execute talent management goals.
• Execute timely data collection to maintain operational metrics and reduce operational costs.
• Partner with key customer contacts to facilitate relationship building and support customer needs.
• Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
• Lead safety and compliance initiatives and lean management efforts.
• Provide inspired leadership for the organization.
• Assist in achieving financial goals for operations, specifically regarding labor expenditures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the logistics industry.
• Minimum of 1-3 years' management experience in the logistics industry.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, conflict management, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing relationships with contract drivers and DOT compliance.
• Ability to build consensus and relationships among leadership and employees.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, RF Scanners, and Warehouse Management Systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Lean Management Certification of Yellow Belt or Higher.
• Experience in 3PL or last mile logistics.
• Past personnel planning and management responsibilities.
