About the position

The Operations Manager for ARK Industrial LLC is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day shipping processes of a solar distribution start-up. This role involves coordinating shipments, ensuring effective communication between various stakeholders, and maintaining high standards of customer service in a primarily remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Utilize shipping software to select the best freight carriers for each shipment, ensuring competitive pricing and timely deliveries.
• Book freight shipments and coordinate with warehouses for pickups, ensuring timely execution and follow-up.
• Communicate with freight carriers to monitor the shipment process and address any issues that arise.
• Provide customers with delivery timelines and updates, answering any questions or concerns throughout the process.
• Manage inbound inquiries (phone, email, text) related to shipping, products, and general customer service.
• Handle basic customer inquiries regarding solar panels and shipping processes.
• Assist customers with the delivery process and manage damage claims as necessary.
• Maintain strong relationships with freight carriers and ensure service level expectations are met.
• Learn the basics of solar panel distribution to better assist with operations and customer service.

Requirements

• Previous experience in operations, logistics, or freight management
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and handle customer inquiries professionally and efficiently
• Willingness to learn about solar panel products and distribution processes
• Problem-solving skills to manage freight and customer service issues
• Proficiency with logistics/shipping software (experience with LTL freight software is a plus)
