About the position

The Security Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the security department, including scheduling, training, and managing security personnel. This role involves addressing staffing conflicts, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and maintaining effective communication with upper management regarding operational issues.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all full-time and part-time security personnel.
  • Train and evaluate security personnel.
  • Initiate disciplinary actions and terminations as required.
  • Assist in preparing weekly work schedules for security guards.
  • Provide security staffing for various functions as needed.
  • Enforce and recommend improvements to building security plans and schedules.
  • Account for all security guards' hours, including sick/vacation, and review payroll for accuracy.
  • Approve time off for security guards and submit requests for final approval.
  • Implement security measures improvements as developed.
  • Review daily security guard reports, incident reports, and log entries; take necessary action and follow up with management.
  • Verify and review Tracktik monitoring and reports.
  • Maintain necessary forms and reports for staff and clients.
  • Make recommendations on staffing needs, budgeting data, and purchase recommendations.
  • Establish building security plans and schedules for special events.
  • Assist and advise on-duty security guards around the clock.
  • Investigate all security guard injuries and prepare necessary reports.
  • Participate in day-to-day and special facility functions, including service on various committees and programs.
  • Assist in monitoring the security officer training programs.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in security operations management or related field.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to train and evaluate personnel effectively.
  • Proficient in scheduling and payroll management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with security monitoring systems such as Tracktik.
  • Knowledge of building security protocols and emergency response procedures.
